Jeff,This is the same exact crap that the Уwar on drugsФ types have been spewing as long as I can remember. Precisely. УWorse than cigarettesФ, УMore COФ, etc. These things were taught in my high school health class. The comparison is bunk though. If you smoked a pack-a-day of unfiltered marijuana buy camel, then sure, I can imagine how they might be worse than cheap camel. By far, casual marijuana users do not smoke nearly as much as a tobacco user. I agree with MikeТs Уeverything causes cancerФ bit. If you consume two bags of marshmallows with every meal, that could probably be linked to cancer. The thing is, nobody does that.I donТt smoke pot either, so I also have no particular reason to careЕ other than the fact that my government wastes tons of money fighting a war on a plant, instead of treating a social disorder.ЦBy the way, did you know that saliva causes cancer? Its true. But only if swallowed in small amounts over a long period of time.

| Smoking a joint is equivalent to 20 smoke camel in terms of lung cancer risk, scientists in New Zealand have found, as they warned of an УepidemicФ of lung cancers linked to cannabis. Studies in the past have demonstrated that cannabis can cause cancer, but few have established a strong link between cannabis use and the actual incidence of lung cancer. In an article published in the European Respiratory Journal, the scientists said cannabis could be expected to harm the airways more than tobacco as its smoke contained twice the level of carcinogens, such as polyaromatic hydrocarbons, compared with tobacco cigarettes. The method of smoking also increases the risk, since joints are typically smoked without a proper filter and almost to the very tip, which increases the amount of smoke inhaled. The cannabis smoker inhales more deeply and for longer, facilitating the deposition of carcinogens in the airways. УCannabis smokers end up with five times more carbon monoxide in their bloodstream (than tobacco smokers),Ф team leader Richard Beasley, at the Medical Research Institute of New Zealand, said in a telephone interview.
